cantons de l'est belge ,en mémoire des nombreux Américains qui ont sacrifié leurs vies pour notre liberté dans la région de
Bütgenbach et
Büllingen" Bullange "lors de la seconde Guerre Mondiale de la
bataille des Ardennes

Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd er zwaar gevochten in de regio rond Bütgenbach en Büllingen. Heel wat Amerikanen lieten er hun leven voor onze vrijheid. Om die ultieme opoffering te herdenken, schenken de twee burgemeesters sinds 1999 elk jaar een kerstboom aan de Amerikaanse ambassade.Mooie traditie uit het
Kamp Elsenborn brachten de boom veilig op zijn bestemming.

Each year in commemoration of the heroism of our soldiers in the
Battle of the Bulge, the Mayors of Bütgenbach and Büllingen donate a Christmas tree to the American Embassy. This gift is made possible with the help of the Belgian military at
Camp Elsenborn, commanded

ReplyDeleteOh, the Christmas trees are so special. I still have mine up until tomorrow. You have a lovely blog with many terrific pictures. I see that you like photography also.....and you are from Belgium. We watched a movie this Christmas about how different cities in Europe celebrate Christmas. It was so interesting to see different traditions that people have. Thank you for visit us at Red Rose Alley.
